Job Description

The COVES Fellowship, administered by the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (VASEM), is a 12-week summer program that places STEM graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in legislative offices, executive agencies, or nonprofits in Virginia. The fellowship aims to strengthen ties between the scientific community and state government.

Role Description:
Fellows serve as science and technology advisors, gaining experience in policymaking and contributing to the development of state policies related to science and engineering.

    • Enrollment as a graduate student or status as a postdoctoral fellow in a STEM field at a Virginia university

    • Completion of at least one year of graduate studies or postdoctoral appointment
