Do you have a Master’s degree and are looking for fully funded PhD opportunities? Centre for research in agricultural Genomics, Barcelona, Spain is now accepting applications for several funded PhD programs across a range of research areas.

1. Fully Funded PhD in Plant Synthetic Biology and Photosynthesis

Summary of Funded PhD Program

We invite applications for a PhD student to join the Plant Synthetic Biology and Photosynthesis group led by Dr Ivan Reyna-Llorens at CRAG. Our group is interested in understanding the plasticity of different metabolic networks like C4 and CAM and to use this information to engineer novel photosynthetic pathways. To do so we are looking for a highly motivated PhD student that will incorporate synthetic biology and plant physiology techniques.

3. Fully Funded PhD in Role of the E3 ligase COP1 at coordinating BR and GA signaling

Summary of Funded PhD Program

Research will be addressed to unveil the molecular mechanism for temperature-dependent control of this light signaling ubiquitin kinase and to application of this knowledge in enhancing climate change resilience of potato plants. Applicants will be involved in cutting-edge research in the field of thermal response signaling, by studying effects of the light receptor phytochromes on COP1 stability, COP1-protein interactions, and its ubiquitination activity on photomorphogenic promoting factors and its overall impact on elongation-inducing gibberellin and brassinosteroid signaling.

Application Deadline: 15th October 2024
