Do you have a Master’s degree and are looking for fully funded PhD opportunities? Technical University of Munich, Germany is now accepting applications for several funded PhD programs across a range of research areas.
1. Fully Funded PhD in sustainable solid construction
Summary of Funded PhD Program
In addition to the classic topics of solid construction, questions about environmentally friendly alternatives and sustainable solid construction are increasingly coming to the fore. The numerous advantages of reinforced concrete are offset in particular by the CO₂ emissions that arise during the production of cement and reinforcing steel. In recent years, promising concepts such as calcined clays, BCSA cements, Celitement, fine grain admixtures and high-tensile fibers have been researched. These approaches can significantly reduce emissions and at the same time do without the limited availability of by-products of energy-intensive industries such as fly ash, granulated blast furnace slag or silica dust.
Application Deadline: October 20 , 2024

4. Fully Funded PhD in sustainable concrete structures
Summary of Funded PhD Program
In addition to the traditional issues of concrete construction, issues of environmental responsibility and sustainability are becoming increasingly important. The many advantages of reinforced concrete are offset by the CO₂ emissions associated with the production of cement and reinforcing steel. In recent years, promising concepts such as calcined clays, BCSA cements, celitement, powdered grain admixtures, and high-strength fibers have been explored. These approaches can be used to significantly reduce emissions while avoiding the limited availability of by-products from energy-intensive industries such as fly ash, granulated blast-furnace slag, or silica fume.
