This position is an integral part of an innovative project aimed at creating a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) model to study cavitating flows and their noise propagation. The project’s goal is to address the issue of underwater radiated noise(URN), primarily caused by ship propellers, contributing significantly to marine pollution. Collaborating with MAN-ES, a leading ship propeller manufacturer, and supported by funding from the Danish Maritime Fund and Orient Fonden, this project seeks to make substantial strides in mitigating URN’s environmental impact.

The overarching project investigates confinement as both a restriction of freedom and a form of protection, highlighting its unequal distribution in contexts of urban marginality, displacement and incarceration. Family relationships and trans-country mobility serve as a common entry point to understanding confining dynamics and their effects across the four transnational sites.

4. Fully Funded PhD in Game Design and Evaluation

Summary of Funded PhD Program

This PhD stipend is within Workpage 7, “Game design for CCI training”’ which will support Europe’s CCIs (Cultural and Creative Industries) in understanding and delivering the goals of the European Green Deal. Taking a participatory design approach, WP7 will create a game that aims to communicate the goals of the European Green Deal. Further, WP7 will generate new knowledge relating to evaluations of user engagement with sustainability goals. WP7 is in a strong collaboration with “Goat Gamez” located in Warsaw.
