The Miranda Family Fellowship Program is a two-year, full-time workforce development initiative hosted by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., in partnership with the Miranda Family Fund. Launched in 2019, the program provides paid, entry‑level positions to candidates from historically excluded communities—particularly Black, Indigenous, and People of Color—to build careers as arts administrators or theatre technicians.
Role Description:
Fellows are placed in one of four departmental tracks and will:
- Connectivity Department: Support community engagement initiatives, coordinate outreach events, and manage audience enrichment programs in alignment with Woolly’s social mission.
- Marketing Department: Assist in campaign planning, social media content creation, and analytics for promoting mainstage productions and educational programs.
- New Work & Artistic Producing: Collaborate on new play development, dramaturgical research, and production planning under the guidance of senior artistic staff.
- Production Department: Learn technical theatre skills—rigging, lighting, sound, and stage
Application Cycle:
Annually.
What You’ll Need:
- Demonstrated interest in theatre or arts administration; academic credentials are not required.
- Identification with a historically excluded community (BIPOC, first-generation college, LGBTQIA+, disability, etc.).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
- Ability to commit full‑time for two years and work standard theatre hours, including evenings and weekends.
