Graduate Fellowships @Fellowships posted 2 months agoJob Description
Job Description: A recruiting fellowship established in 1973 to attract top Ph.D. students to Georgia Tech. Provided by the Tech Foundation, it supplements other support to prepare fellows for distinguished careers.
Role Description: Fellows are incoming or current doctoral students who have been admitted to Tech. The fellowship funds are “top-off” funds, adding to their normal assistantship.
Application Cycle: Annual (for each incoming cohort, plus some rolling awards for in-year admits).
What You’ll Need: U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (explicitly required). Admission to a Georgia Tech doctoral program; exceptional academic credentials (letters, transcripts, test scores).
Preferred or Required Qualifications: Highly competitive; recipients bring exemplary scholarship and innovation to their departments. Selection is based on academic record, letters, and goals.
Benefits and Perks: Additional stipend of $5,500 per year (fall and spring) on top of any assistantship. This award (paid to the student account) is renewable for up to 4 more years (total 8 semesters) if the student maintains excellent progress. Note: The fellowship does not cover tuition or fees (those are covered by the student’s base assistantship).
Where and How You Can Apply: By internal nomination. Departments submit nominees to the Graduate School (using their Presidential Fellowship allocation). Contact Georgia Tech Graduate Studies or visit the President’s Fellowship webpage for departmental deadlines and instructions.
