University of Utah Health offers a fully funded PhD program in Biomedical Informatics through its Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI). This program is designed to train independent scientists capable of transforming data into knowledge to improve individual and population health.​

The curriculum requires approximately 35 credit hours of formal coursework, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0, and at least 14 research credit hours leading to the completion and defense of an original PhD dissertation.
