The Beinat Laboratory has an opening for a highly motivated and collaborative postdoctoral fellow with interest in organic chemistry and radiopharmaceutical development. Successful candidates will join the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford within the Department of Radiology, Stanford School of Medicine.
The project will focus on optimization of peptide ligands targeting promising cancer antigens followed by subsequent radiolabeling and pre-clinical validation. The Beinat lab employs combinatorial panning methods, including phage and mRNA display, to identify de novo peptides for promising biomarkers lacking a natural ligand or lead structure. We then optimize peptide ligands for affinity and stability using amino acid scans and site-specific modifications and introduce chelators for radiolabeling with diagnostic and theraueptic radioisotopes. Our ultimate goal is to develop promising peptide ligands suitable for theranostic application.
