Job Description
The Visual Neuroscience Lab in the Center for Neural Science at New York University has an immediate opening for a full-time laboratory associate. The laboratory associate will work in a team-driven environment and be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to: maintaining inventories of general stocks and supplies, procurement, protocol compliance, laboratory upkeep and coordinating equipment repair and fabrication. Experience in scientific computing and web development are valuable but not required. In-term opportunities for promotion will be available to qualified candidates seeking a longer-term position.
Opportunities for significant involvement in ongoing research are also available. The Visual Neuroscience Lab uses a variety of research approaches including measurements of behavior, brain structure, and brain function. The lab is composed of undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists. This is an ideal position for someone seeking to gain professional experience in a research environment before continuing on to further studies or to a position in the private sector.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,656- $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Physics, Engineering, or another
related field. Relevant post-graduate job experience would be helpful but is not required.
