Funding Package

  • Tuition Waiver: Full coverage of tuition fees

  • Stipend: Monthly stipend through Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) or Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs). For the 2023–2024 academic year, the stipend rates are:

    • 37.5% time (15 hrs/week): $2,235 per month

    • 50% time (20 hrs/week): $2,689 per month

Additionally, outstanding incoming graduate students may be awarded the Dean’s Fellowship, a one-time $10,000 fellowship.

Admission Requirements

  • Academic Background: A Master’s degree in Music Technology or a related field such as computing, music, engineering, or media arts and sciences

  • Prerequisites: Demonstrated proficiency in:

    • Music theory, performance, composition, and/or analysis

    • Music Information Retrieval

    • Digital Signal Processing and Synthesis

    • Interactive Music Systems Design

    • Music Cognition
