Job Description
The Aspen Food Leaders Fellowship, hosted by the Aspen Institute’s Food & Society program, is an 18-month leadership development initiative designed to unite emerging food system leaders from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Launched in 2022, the fellowship aims to ignite personal transformation, foster cross-sector collaboration, and drive scalable change toward a fair, sustainable, and healthy food system.
Role Description:
Fellows engage in a comprehensive program that includes:

In-Person Seminars: Three gatherings over 18 months, starting with a five-day seminar in Aspen, Colorado, followed by two four-day seminars. These sessions involve critical examination of personal beliefs, leadership training, and experiential field visits to organizations within the food system.

Action Plan Development: Fellows design and implement an action plan that builds on their existing work, enhanced by the reflection, knowledge, and support gained through the program.

Virtual Engagements: Regular virtual gatherings, including site visits, guest-led discussions, and peer mentorship, to continue learning and collaboration between in-person seminars.

Mentorship: Access to a network of food industry experts who serve as mentors, providing guidance and support throughout the fellowship.

What You’ll Need:

Be based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Demonstrated early success as a changemaker, entrepreneur, or innovator in the food system.

Commitment to creating a fair, sustainable, and healthy food system.

Desire to collaborate across the food system and bring solutions to scale.Openness to continued growth and learning from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences.
Preferred or Required Qualifications:

Experience in food system-related work, such as agriculture, nutrition, policy, or entrepreneurship.

Ability to commit to the full 18-month program, including all in-person seminars and virtual engagements.
