  • Technical Workshops: Attend monthly workshops on remote sensing, geospatial analysis, machine learning, and climate science applications led by Planet researchers and external experts.
  • Cross‑Sector Collaboration: Partner with a cohort of fellows and external stakeholders (NGOs, municipalities, corporate sustainability teams) to iterate on project prototypes and ensure real‑world impact.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Publish open‑source code and reports, present findings at quarterly demos, and contribute to Planet’s community forums and hackathons.

Application Cycle:
Annually.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, geography, computer science, data science, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Python (or R) and experience with geospatial libraries (e.g., GDAL, rasterio).
  • Familiarity with remote sensing concepts, climate data sets, or earth observation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a standalone research or data project from conception to delivery.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Stipend: $70,000 annual fellowship salary, plus relocation or remote support stipend.
  • Data Access: Unlimited access to Planet’s global satellite imagery archive and APIs.
  • Professional Development: Funding for conference attendance, specialized training, and certification courses.
  • Network & Mentorship: One‑on‑one mentorship from Planet scientists, plus introductions to climate leaders in academia, government, and industry.

Where and How You Can Apply:
