Job Description


The UNDP Internship Programme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience in international development. Interns contribute to UNDP’s mission by supporting various projects and initiatives across its global network, including country offices, regional hubs, and headquarters.

Role Description:
Interns engage in a range of tasks, such as research, project management, communications, and administrative support, depending on the specific needs of the hosting office. They work under the supervision of experienced UNDP staff, gaining insights into the organization’s operations and contributing to its development objectives.

  • Application Cycle: Internship opportunities are posted throughout the year, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • What You’ll Need:

    • Enrollment in a graduate-level degree program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or

    • Enrollment in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or

    • Graduation with a university degree (as defined above) and commencement of the internship within one year of graduation.

  • Preferred or Required Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in English is required; fluency in French or Spanish is an asset.

    • Strong academic performance and a demonstrated interest in international development.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
