Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The laboratory of Yanhai Yin in the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology at Iowa State University is looking for a self-motivated postdoc to join the group. The postdocs will perform genetic, genomic, molecular, biochemical and cell biological studies to understand the regulation of plant growth and stress responses by plant hormone brassinosteroid and autophagy pathways in Arabidopsis. The postdoc will also help supervise graduate and undergraduate students, write manuscripts, and perform other related duties in the research laboratory. The initial appointment will be for one year with opportunities for renewals.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in plant biology or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with plant genetic studies using model plants such as Arabidopsis, rice and maize
  • Experience with plant genomic studies (such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics)
  • Experience with cell and molecular biology studies (such as microscopy, molecular cloning, and RNA and protein techniques)
  • Evidence of research productivities including high-quality publications
