In the first two years, students are guaranteed summer research fellowships from The Graduate School. For years 3–5, students are expected to apply for at least two non-departmental summer funding sources. If external funding is not secured, departmental assistantships or backstop funding from the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences may be available.
Additionally, the Mellon Graduate Fellowship in Visual Studies offers competitive summer and academic-year funding for eligible students.
