<h2><b>Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:</b></h2>
<p>The Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management (AESHM) in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for a 9-month term faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in the Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) program to teach courses in fashion trend forecasting, global sourcing, retail merchandising, and entrepreneurship.  Initial appointment length is one year.  Renewal parameters are determined by performance and department needs.  Start date is August 16, 2025.</p>
<p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Teach undergraduate and graduate lectures and experiential courses related to fashion trend forecasting, global sourcing, retail merchandising, and entrepreneurship.</li>
<li>Support faculty and students in course development/projects fashion product sourcing, retailing, entrepreneurship, and related opportunities.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the FDM program to ensure course alignment with industry needs and student demand.</li>
<li>Guide the operations of the student-operated retail store and its associated course.</li>
<li>Serve as liaison between the FDM program and the fashion and retailing industries by leading field study tours and guiding professional development opportunities.</li>
<li>Participate in curriculum planning and fulfill other responsibilities normally associated with an assistant teaching professor position</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Required Minimum Qualifications</b>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree</li>
<li>At least one degree in fashion/apparel</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Doctoral degree in fashion/apparel</li>
<li>Prior teaching experience at the university/college level</li>
<li>Prior industry experience related to fashion or soft goods</li>
<li>Ability to teach trend forecasting, global sourcing, retail merchandising, and entrepreneurship and guide related experiential learning</li>
</ul>

<p>The Department of Art and Visual Culture in the College of Design at Iowa State University is offering a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Metals starting August 2026.</p>
<p>Qualified candidates will bring an in-depth knowledge in metal craft, art, design, and related materials and practices. Areas of expertise will include contemporary and traditional techniques embracing sculptural and functional approaches to making. Special attention will be given to candidates who bring an innovative approach to metalsmithing and/or jewelry making, along with a critical knowledge of related materials to their teaching and creative work. Candidates with ethical and environmentally responsible approaches to their discipline and teaching are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to teaching in the department of Art and Visual Culture and the interdisciplinary collegiate programs in the College of Design. The position includes working with students from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds and abilities. Pedagogically adaptive and innovative approaches in teaching are expected. The position responsibilities also include scholarship and research in the area of the candidate’s expertise; student advising; service on department, college and university committees; and maintenance of the metals studio and related equipment.</p>

<h2><b>Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:</b></h2>
<p>Iowa State University’s Department of Music and Theatre seeks a dynamic and experienced Lecturer of Percussion for a one-semester appointment, beginning 8/16/25. The successful candidate will teach applied percussion studio, direct the percussion ensemble, and manage the percussion instrument inventory and maintenance.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide one-on-one applied lessons for approximately 12 undergraduate percussion students.</li>
<li>Lead weekly percussion studio class</li>
<li>Assist in on campus recruitment events and preparation for percussion auditions and juries.</li>
<li>Direct the university’s percussion ensemble, including selecting repertoire, preparing for the fall concert, and coordinating rehearsals.</li>
<li>Oversee inventory of percussion instruments and equipment</li>
<li>Assist in coordinating the logistics for percussion-related rehearsals, activities, and performances.</li>
</ul>
<p><i>This part-time term faculty position is 38% full-time equivalent (FTE), with a one semester term, ending 12/31/25.</i></p>
<p><i>Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.</i></p>
<h2><b>Required Minimum Qualifications:</b></h2>
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in Music or related field (preferably in Percussion Performance or Percussion Pedagogy)</li>
<li>Experiencing teaching applied percussion</li>
</ul>
<h2><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></h2>
<ul>
<li>Experience teaching applied percussion at the college/university level</li>
<li>Experience directing and/or conducting a percussion ensemble</li>
<li>Demonstrated organizational proficiency</li>
<li>Demonstrated communication proficiency</li>
<li>Demonstrated excellence and achievement in percussion performance and teaching</li>
</ul>
