<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><b>Job Summary</b></span></p>
<p>Under direct supervision schedules daily personalized itineraries to the admission office; schedules interviews; answers and directs calls; disseminates information to the general public and the University community; provides support to visit program event planning as needed. Maintains the daily operations of the <u><a href="https://www.slu.edu/admission/visit/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">New Student Visit Center</a></u> including overall schedule, facilities and maintenance, inventory of marketing materials, visitor packets, promotional items, and refreshments. Develops and maintains relationships with academic and student service departments. Assists in the creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting online registration for all campus visit events and visits. <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><b>Job Duties</b></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Schedules individual, admission, academic, and special request visits and campus tours using database management software; is responsible for data integrity and entry for over 20,000 visitors; composes written materials and corresponds with prospective students concerning campus visit programming in SLATE admission customer relationship management system (CRM).</li>
<li>Develops data reporting processes to provide administrator with relevant information in SLATE CRM.</li>
<li>Responds to Web inquiries from prospective students and their families, providing information about the University and/or status of applications; receives and directs phone calls to staff and other departments; greets visiting students and their families.</li>
<li>Develops and maintains strong relationships with academic and student service departments.</li>
<li>Schedules group campus visit program components, which includes speakers, classes, and room arrangements in SLATE CRM.</li>
<li>Daily management of facilities, housekeeping, inventory, and guest/visitor services.</li>
<li>Front desk coverage, management of daily visitor activities including campus tour guides, presentation speakers, interview, and appointment schedules in SLATE CRM.</li>
<li>
<div>Assists with coordinating the tour guide program.</div>
</li>
<li>Contributes to the overall efforts of the department via promotion of a teamwork environment and fostering creativity, especially around campus visits.</li>

<p><b><u>Remote/In-person Expectations</u></b></p>
<p>This position will require the individual to work in the office with the potential to work a hybrid schedule, up to one day per week remotely, contingent on visit and recruitment needs, and after completion of the first 6 months of initial onsite training and familiarizing with department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.</p>

Monitors the eligibility of prospective student athletes and updates various prospective student athlete databases.</li>

Organizes on-campus visits of prospective student athletes (official visits and unofficial visits, Junior days and other football recruiting events). Provides tours of campus athletic facilities to prospective student-athletes and families.</li>

<p><strong>Admissions/Recruitment </strong></p>
<p>Respond to inquiries about our programs and process applications for DDS, ITDP and specialty master&#8217;s degree programs using technology across several platforms. Use University and other internal and external software to track and process all steps of the application process. Assist with student matriculation to the program listed.</p>
<p><strong>Event Planning</strong></p>
<p>Collaborate with the Admissions Team to plan and carry out student interview and orientation events. Work with the Admissions Team and represent the School of Dentistry at various recruitment events, both in-person and virtual. Assist with planning other events as needed. Act as information expert with matters related to matriculation. Use multiple platforms to complete student matriculation for DDS, ITDP and master&#8217;s degree. Work with specific staff on matters related to incoming international students who require a student visa for study.</p>
<p><strong>Administrative/Advising</strong></p>
<p>Engage with prospective students through various communication methods including phone and email. Assist with maintenance of posted information on our website and other discipline-related outlets. Provide prospective student advising as needed and manage associated advising calendars</p>
<p><strong>Analytics</strong></p>
<p>Demonstrate strong technology skills to assist with data collection which may include learning new software and other technology necessary to support the Admissions office. Work on special projects as assigned by the Admissions Director.</p>
<h2>Required Qualifications*</h2>
<p>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or an equivalent combination of education and recent relevant experience. Candidates must have 2-3 years of recent office work with previous experience in organizing data, using Microsoft Office and Google, and excellent demonstrated writing and editing skills. Ideal candidate will posess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to embrace new projects and find creative solutions. Candidate will be self-motivated, highly dependable, have a positive attitude and ability to problem solve. Demonstrated problem solving skills are paramount for this position.  Candidate will have the ability to learn new skills as needed, including software and other technology to support an admissions office. Ability to manage time and priorities in a busy environment, take direction and work effectively as a team member. Must exercise discretion with handling confidential and sensitive data. Excellent attendance record. Must be able to move materials up to 20 pounds to a height of 3-4 feet and set them on tables, carts, or other surfaces. Some evening and weekend work as needed.</p>

<p>A Bachelor&#8217;s degree with 2 years of experience in student services administration. Student services experience within the University of Michigan or School of Dentistry. Prior experience with Wolverine Access. Considerable knowledge of U-M policies and procedures.</p>
<h2>Work Schedule</h2>
<p>Monday &#8211; Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.  Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required for certain events. This position may be eligible for some flexible work opportunities at the discretion of the hiring department.  During the first 3 months of onboarding, an onsite schedule is required.  Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the hiring department.</p>

<p>The School of Management at the University of Michigan-Flint is looking for one full-time Academic Advisor to serve our growing student population.</p>
<p>Reporting to the Director of SOM Student Support Services, SOM Academic Advisors help contribute to the school&#8217;s retention and degree completion goals. SOM Advisors will individually manage a designated caseload of students, providing comprehensive support throughout their transition in the university and journey towards degree completion. SOM Advisors initiate and maintain regular contact with their assigned students to identify and address any obstacles to academic progress. Monitoring students&#8217; performance and collaborating with faculty, academic support services, and other university resources are necessary components of this role.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities*</h2>
<p><strong>Student Interaction</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Create a welcoming environment where students can safely develop ownership of their educational progress</li>
<li>Advise students of diverse backgrounds on course selection, graduation requirements, co-curricular opportunities, and student rights/responsibilities</li>
<li>Collaborate with students to create, assess, and update course schedules and degree-completion plans using retention strategies, such as Mandatory Advising</li>
<li>Assess individual student needs and refer them to appropriate university resources, including Financial Aid, Tutorial Support, Writing Center, Counseling and Psychological Services,</li>

<h2>Responsibilities*</h2>
<p>Advising/Coaching  &#8211; (75%)</p>
<ul>
<li>Advise 12th graders and their families in completing the college exploration and selection process</li>
<li>Help scholars complete college and financial aid applications</li>
<li>Provide one-on-one advising on these and other related matters (e.g., completing FAFSA, CSS Profile, evaluation of scholarship options) and direct them to pertinent resources and offices as warranted</li>
<li>Facilitate college advising services to students through individual student meetings, classroom lessons, and college preparation and financial aid events;</li>
<li>Track application progress, college acceptances, and scholarship awards</li>
<li>Facilitate and/or monitor synchronous whole group and half group sessions with guest presenters and scholars on college preparatory topics</li>
<li>Support scholars and families by providing knowledge around financial aid and the <span lang="EN">interpretation of award letters and financial aid and the interpretation of award letters and financial aid packages</span></li>
</ul>

<li><span lang="EN">Assist with planning and staffing Wolverine Pathways virtual and in-person events</span>

<li>At least 2 years of experience providing college advising;</li>

<li>Establishes and maintains an informational, active communication system with either traditional high school or college students, parents and counselors, or post-traditional degree-seeking adults; counsels’ student applicants concerning admission, financial aid, career planning, and housing options if applicable. Explains, interprets, and provides outreach to students regarding the FAFSA and financial aid awards.</li>
<li>Identifies, recruits, and enrolls prospective students in a designated market; manages a recruitment territory; develops recruitment strategies; plans and arranges all phases of regional and local travel; conducts office-based contact by mail and phone with students, and parents if applicable; may make reservations.</li>
<li>Reads, interprets, and evaluates students’ academic credentials and makes admission/denial decisions; assists with scholarship appropriation.</li>
<li>Participates as an active member of the recruitment team; assists with special programs and research projects; participates in the development and implementation of enrollment strategies; composes routine letters; compiles data for reports; maintains calendar; processes applications; schedules appointments; maintains confidential files; prepares position papers/reports; inputs/retrieves data on information system software; assists with making hiring recommendations; plans work and establishes priorities.</li>

<h2>Purpose</h2>
<p>The Graduate School is inviting applications for degree evaluators. Degree evaluators play a critical role in graduate education overseeing the progress of graduate students through their degree programs from an administrative lens. Individuals in this position will develop expertise in multiple enterprise systems, policies, and procedures at the University of Texas at Austin. Degree evaluators engage with graduate programs and graduate students advising them on how to navigate the requirements for doctoral and master’s degrees. We invite collaborative, detail-oriented individuals to apply and join the Graduate School team.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<p>Create, maintain, and certify graduate student records as graduate students progress through their degree programs. Activities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Review and process doctoral candidacy applications, petitions for change in doctoral committee, and similar ensuring alignment with graduate education policies and requirements.</li>
<li>Vet and process requests related to Master’s coursework requirements, petitions for changes in master&#8217;s committees, and similar to ensure alignment with graduate education policies and requirements.</li>
<li>Manage applications for graduation for Master’s and Doctoral degree candidates.</li>
<li>Verify completion of doctoral and master’s graduate degree requirements including reviewing required coursework, minimal GPA obtained, and semester hours completed.</li>
<li>Consult with faculty and graduate students on appropriate options when degree requirements are not met.</li>
<li>Review Master’s theses and doctoral dissertations for appropriate formatting and manage publication embargoes.</li>
<li>Counsel programs and students on complex petitions and exception requests.</li>
</ul>
<p>Serve as a resource for graduate students, faculty, and staff in numerous offices across the university on degree requirements and processes including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Advise students and graduate programs about acceptable substitutions for required courses, dissertation committee composition, deadlines, dissertation oral defense requirements, electronic thesis and dissertation submissions, and automated processes.</li>
<li>Develop and deliver workshops for graduate students and programs on degree requirements, policies and processes.</li>
<li>Provide technical assistance to graduate students, graduate coordinators and faculty to facilitate degree certification processes.</li>
<li>Partner with the information technology support team on technology development to support systems and processes related to graduate student records and degree certification.</li>
<li>Serve as a primary resource to other campus offices regarding graduate degree requirements and college policies.</li>
<li>Maintain regular delivery of electronic theses and dissertations to the Texas Libraries, the Texas Digital Library, and UMI.</li>
<li>Provide specialized training on systems for graduate programs.</li>
</ul>
<p>Other duties:</p>
<ul>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned, such as helping the office with orientation, convocation, and other events.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>
<p>Bachelor&#8217;s degree with 1 year of experience. Minimum of three years of professional experience in a student services position in an academic setting. Cultural competence and demonstrated effectiveness working with student populations. Experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel) and email. Proven ability to develop new technical skills as technology evolves. Demonstrated ability to communicate extensively via telephone, email and face-to-face. Demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor, including business attire as needed. Demonstrated organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to take instruction, work as a team member and independently.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to positively interact and clearly communicate with supervisor, co-workers, staff and students.  Strong attendance record.  Ability to take supervision.  Skilled at anticipating changing priorities, working in changing environments, providing strong customer service skills, and responding well to feedback.</p>
<p><i>Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.</i></p>
<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>
<p>Experience with University mainframe (DEFINE, NRRECS), Macintosh and PC platforms. Experience with ITS thesis and dissertation templates. Experience with PDF converters and readers. Experience with data downloads and conversion. Demonstrated ability to interact in a professional manner with University faculty, staff, and students. Experience in academic advising. Experience working with Electronic Theses and Dissertations. Demonstrated organizational skills. Familiarity with student services and graduate programs at UT Austin.  Knowledgeable of university resources, policies, and procedures.</p>
