<p>OVERVIEW</p>
<p>This position is based in Lexington, NE with the geographic accountability region of Arthur, McPherson, Logan, Custer, Dawson, Lincoln, Perkins and Keith Counties. Focused on young children and their caregivers (e.g., parents, early childhood teachers), this position will contribute to the integrated (extension, research, and teaching) land-grant mission of the home unit and the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources as an effective scholar and citizen.</p>
<p>The primary responsibility for this position is to develop and deliver high quality, innovative educational programs and resources as an active participant in the work of the Early Childhood team and may be active in a statewide issue team that addresses current issues facing Nebraska. This position is expected to interact closely with parents, teachers, early childhood professionals, and caregivers of young children in their geographic area and possibly statewide based on the current projects and goals of the Early Childhood team.</p>
<p>Nebraska Extension’s Early Childhood team supports adults who play a role in young children’s lives by providing educational programming and resources about early child development and early care and education. Adults play a significant role in setting the stage for young children’s lifelong learning, discovery, and success. The Early Childhood team is committed to empowering these adults to support and provide effective learning experiences for Nebraska’s young children. Such early learning experiences enhance Children’s readiness (physical, cognitive, social, and emotional) for school and setting them up for lifelong success.</p>
<p>This twelve-month, non-tenure track position carries the title of open rank extension educator or extension instructor, depending on the candidate’s level of education. Those possessing a graduate level degree in the requested area of instruction will be considered for an open rank educator position, a full-time, promotable, non-tenure track appointment. Those in possession of an undergraduate degree in the requested area of instruction will be considered for an instructor position, a full-time, non-promotable, non-tenure track appointment that will be renewed annually for a maximum of five years in the appointment. If hired as an instructor, the incumbent will be expected to make satisfactory progress towards and complete a master’s degree within the initial five-year appointment period. As part of the Nebraska benefits package, UNL offers tuition remission for full-time employees, up to 15 credit hours per year. Once the master’s degree is earned within that period, the position will advance to an assistant extension educator appointment.</p>
<p>PROGRAMMATIC RESPONSIBILITIES (approximately 80%)</p>
<p>Uses high-impact, innovative strategies, and current technologies to design, develop, deliver and evaluate programs for robust statewide extension education programs focused on the Early Childhood team’s goals.</p>
<p>Engages in a collaborative learning environment with professionals and caregivers to encourage the adoption of research-based information in decision-making.</p>
<p>Delivers educational programming for early childhood statewide and within the assigned accountability region. Within the assigned accountability region, the incumbent will also engage with unit leaders, Extension Engagement Zone Coordinators, extension advisory committees, and local stakeholders to determine needs and provide access to educational opportunities.</p>
<p>Works in a multi-disciplinary team environment with extension professionals and other partners to translate and teach the latest research-based information.</p>
<p>Uses entrepreneurial practices to secure grants, program fees, and partnerships to leverage the extension educational program’s resource base and reach.</p>
<p>Partners with research faculty to engage in action research that can be applied to educational programming.</p>
<p>Practices effective extension scholarship by engaging in community-based participatory research, conducting needs assessments, identifying priorities in partnership with communities, measuring program impact, and reporting results at professional meetings and in professional publications.</p>
<p>Participates in professional development to enhance and maintain professional expertise in both early childhood and extension pedagogy.</p>
<p>Supports the youth development program by teaching in areas related to the Early Childhood focused assignment.</p>
<p>ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP/LEAD EDUCATOR ROLE (approximately 20%)</p>
<p>Serves in, contributes to, or supports the specific Lead Educator roles as described in the Roles and Responsibilities of the Lead Educator document found at https://myextension.unl.edu/lead-educator-position-description as determined in partnership with the supervisor(s).</p>
<p>Coordinates with Engagement Zone Coordinator(s) and other Extension professionals locally and in accountability region to develop a robust Nebraska Extension presence by</p>
<p>Cooperating with local faculty and staff in a team environment to promote Extension’s educational opportunities and impact in the host county</p>
<p>Cultivating a culture of collaboration with local leaders and community members that builds positive relationships between the University and the community</p>
<p>Supporting engagement of advisory or policy groups such as the Extension Board, Ag Society, or County Commissioners/Board of Supervisors</p>
<p>Accepts committee assignments, reporting responsibilities, and other special ad hoc assignments as requested at the administrative unit, college/division, institute, and/or university level.</p>
<p>Some travel is required. Must meet driver standards according to UNL policy and have a valid driver’s license.</p>

<p>Master’s degree in agronomy, crop science, plant sciences, or a closely related field (extension educator) OR bachelor’s degree in agronomy, crop science, plant sciences, or a closely related field (extension instructor). <p>The Leadership Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking credentialed and experienced leaders for a half-time Lecturer role. This position will play a key role in growing our interdisciplinary undergraduate Leadership Studies Program.</p>
<p>Responsibilities include teaching four courses (12 credits) a year, developing high impact experiences for students, and advancing the visibility and impact of the Leadership Studies program at Iowa State University. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with co-workers, create an excellent classroom environment, and contribute to strategic initiatives of the program and the college.</p>
<p><i>This part-time term faculty position is a 50% full-time equivalent (FTE), 9-month position with an initial 1-year term. This position has the possibility of additional course assignment(s) contingent upon budget and staffing needs. This position will have an administrative home department within Psychology.</i></p>

<h2><b>Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:</b></h2>
<p>Iowa State University’s Department of Music and Theatre seeks a dynamic and experienced Lecturer of Percussion for a one-semester appointment, beginning 8/16/25. The successful candidate will teach applied percussion studio, direct the percussion ensemble, and manage the percussion instrument inventory and maintenance.</p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide one-on-one applied lessons for approximately 12 undergraduate percussion students.</li>
<li>Lead weekly percussion studio class</li>
<li>Assist in on campus recruitment events and preparation for percussion auditions and juries.</li>
<li>Direct the university’s percussion ensemble, including selecting repertoire, preparing for the fall concert, and coordinating rehearsals.</li>
<li>Oversee inventory of percussion instruments and equipment</li>
<li>Assist in coordinating the logistics for percussion-related rehearsals, activities, and performances.</li>
</ul>
<p><i>This part-time term faculty position is 38% full-time equivalent (FTE), with a one semester term, ending 12/31/25.</i></p>
<p><i>Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.</i></p>
<h2><b>Required Minimum Qualifications:</b></h2>
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in Music or related field (preferably in Percussion Performance or Percussion Pedagogy)</li>
<li>Experiencing teaching applied percussion</li>
</ul>
<h2><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></h2>
<ul>
<li>Experience teaching applied percussion at the college/university level</li>
<li>Experience directing and/or conducting a percussion ensemble</li>
<li>Demonstrated organizational proficiency</li>
<li>Demonstrated communication proficiency</li>
<li>Demonstrated excellence and achievement in percussion performance and teaching</li>

Instruction:</p>

<li>Actively participate in classroom teaching and instruction of students.</li>
<li>Provide quality instruction, guidance and direction to students through well-prepared course materials, assignments, expectations and timely evaluations and progress reports.</li>

<li>Coordinate, assist and participate in planning and implementing a comprehensive clinical education program.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining and evaluating clinical rotation sites and teaching on clinical rotations, in conjunction with the program director.</li>

As a community of dedicated faculty and staff, it is committed to diversity and student centeredness with the intention to deliver high quality education consistent with the mission of RIT. Building on a foundation of liberal arts and basic sciences, students will gain advanced knowledge in theoretical science and practical applications in experiential learning environments. The selected candidate would be expected to teach 8 courses per year, with reductions due to agreed-upon service to the program, which may include administrative work, advising, and/ or outreach that extends the value and branding of the HCD program. We are especially interested in candidates using digital technologies, platforms, computational methods and creative practices that cross disciplines and examine issues of contemporary, social importance in many forms and modalities.</p>

<p class="answer ng-scope section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea">Humanities, computing, and design is a dynamic field of study that integrates the traditional liberal arts with advanced digital skills found in computing, information sciences, digital design and development, digital storytelling technology, and interactivity in new media. The purpose of this degree is to create a bridge between the traditional liberal arts and the digital world, where critical thinking, cultural awareness, inclusive frameworks and diverse communication methodologies must now integrate with digital and emerging technologies. Emphasizing creative project work, cohort production and critical exploration of digital technology across multiple contexts, the program integrates diverse knowledge systems and encompasses progressive and innovative uses of technology.<br />

<p>The College of Liberal Arts is one of nine colleges within Rochester Institute of Technology. The College has over 150 faculty in 13 departments in the arts, humanities and social sciences. The College currently offers fourteen undergraduate degree programs and five master’s degrees, serving over 800 students. <li>Ability to successfully cultivate professional contacts in the manufacturing sector for the purpose of establishing student cooperative work experiences;</li>
<li>Evidence of being highly motivated and having the ability to inspire students;</li>
<li>Demonstrated teaching experience preferred, particularly with deaf and hard of hearing students</li>
<li>Proficient in American Sign Language. Knowledge of ASL and deaf culture.  A candidate who does not know ASL will be expected to learn ASL and obtain a NTID sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) rating of Intermediate Plus by the end of the second academic year.</li>

<p><strong>Program Delivery</strong></p>

<li>Participates in ongoing promotion and recruitment of audiences for nutrition education classes for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program.</li>
<li>Teaches nutrition education classes to eligible participants at various community sites.  Sites include schools, parks and recreation departments, faith-based organizations, health departments, and other locations.  Lifting and carrying teaching materials and/or supplies up to 50 lbs. May require standing, stooping, pushing and/or pulling. May require standing for prolonged periods of time both indoors and/or working outside to perform teaching lessons.  Classes are in-depth, requiring a minimum of six lessons for each group of participants.</li>
<li>Collects demographic data on clients served.  Evaluates knowledge gained and behavioral changes through approved program evaluation tools.</li>
<li>Refers participants to government and local agencies for public assistance, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).</li>
<li>Markets the program through health fairs and other locations where a booth or display is appropriate.  Works in coordination with appropriate agency staff to ensure the delivery of quality services to the EFNEP participants.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Planning</strong></p>
<p>Plans and prepares nutrition education lessons.  Continues to improve knowledge of subject matter and teaching methods.</p>
<p><strong>Training</strong></p>
<p>Engages in professional development and training opportunities to maintain current knowledge of food and nutrition subject matter, becomes more proficient in determining participant needs, understands various methods of reaching and teaching EFNEP participants, and develops proficiency in using the EFNEP teaching materials via participation in orientation training, and continues self-study.  Continuous on-the job training is presented by the supervising faculty on a bi-weekly basis. Thorough training for virtual education will be provided.</p>
<p><strong>Travel</strong></p>
<p>Stays within assigned travel allocation while traveling to assigned teaching sites from the official headquarters.  Travel is by means of a personal vehicle, for which mileage will be reimbursed monthly at the current state rate. Travel overnight required. Mandatory attendance for the entire out-of-county annual training.</p>
<p><strong>Reporting</strong></p>
<p>Maintains accurate records and reports on clients and personnel requirements.  Submits reports on time for Supervisor or other designee.  Works with agency staff in utilizing records, reports, and other resources to assist in program implementation and in evaluating program impact.</p>
<p>NEs will achieve and maintain food safety certification (SafeStaff).</p>

An advanced degree in Architecture is required.  Experience with teaching and advising at the undergraduate (A.B) and graduate (M.Arch.) level required.
