07 PhD Programs – Fully Funded at University of Southern Denmark, Denmark

Do you have a Master’s degree and are looking for fully funded PhD opportunities? University of Southern Denmark, Denmark is now accepting applications for several funded PhD programs across a range of research areas.

1. Fully Funded PhD in High-Throughput Proteomics Analysis of Environmental Stressors’ Impact on Health

Summary of Funded PhD Program

The project aims to gain deep mechanistic insights into how environmental stressors, such as air pollution, noise, particulate matter, ultrafine particles, and aeroallergens, affect health. We aim to identify the molecular pathways linking these environmental factors to chronic non-communicable diseases by focusing on the brain-heart axis.

3. Fully Funded PhD in Integrated Modular Ship and Manufacturing Development

Summary of Funded PhD Program

Structured product and production architectures for naval vessels are crucial for their successful, time- and cost-effective design, construction, sale and purchase, operation and maintenance. Future naval vessels are expected to be highly modular, thus requiring similarly modular production platforms. Based on similar approaches in for example the automative industry, it is the fundamental hypothesis that despite the complexities, key decisions can be strengthened if architectures and platforms are explicitly discussed, modelled and described.

4. Fully Funded PhD in Reinforcement Learning

Summary of Funded PhD Program

The research project aims to develop new reinforcement learning algorithms with provable performance guarantees. The project specifically addresses continuous control problems with deep actor-critic algorithms. The provable efficiency guarantees are aimed to be developed using advanced learning-theoretic tools such as Probably Approximately Correct (PAC) Bayesian analysis. The project is funded by a prestigious domestic grant.

6. Fully Funded PhD in Environmental Epidemiology and Reproductive Health

Summary of Funded PhD Program

We invite applications for a funded PhD position in a cutting-edge research project examining the impact of maternal exposure to air pollution on male reproductive health. Using advanced geospatial methods, this project explores the effects of air pollution exposure during pregnancy on outcomes such as testicular cancer, genital malformations, and fertility rates in grown-up sons. By developing new causal inference methodologies applied to nationwide registry data, the project aims to create a geographical risk map of Denmark and potentially other regions, providing new insights into the environmental determinants of male reproductive health.

Application Deadline: 01/01/2025
