2. Fully Funded PhD in Physics, advanced X-ray and neutron scattering
Summary of Funded PhD Program
The group deals with the physics of molecular and biological materials using X-ray and neutron scattering. The main research areas are materials for photovoltaics (such as organic semiconductors (OSC) and organic-inorganic halide perovskites), complex nano-structured materials (inorganic nanoparticles in organic matrix), and proteins in solutions and at interfaces. We are currently looking for a PhD student to join our team and help us make exciting new advances in X-ray scattering techniques! You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of systems, including OSCs, perovskites, and biomolecules, as well as explore the cutting-edge field of neural networks and machine learning (ML) strategies for analyzing scattering data.
Application Deadline: 31.12.2024
3. Fully Funded PhD in Human Psychophysics with fMRI/MRI, TMS and/or EEG
Summary of Funded PhD Program
The working group of Sensory and Sensorimotor Systems, at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Tübingen and at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biological Cybernetics is currently looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals to work on projects aimed towards understanding visual attentional and perceptual processes using fMRI/MRI, TMS and/or EEG methodologies. The projects can involve, for example, visual search tasks, stereo vision tasks, visual illusions, and will be discussed during the application process. fMRI/MRI,TMS and/or EEG methodologies can be used in combination with eye tracking, and other related methods as necessary.
Application Deadline: 30.11.2024

4. Fully Funded PhD in Multi-scale Reactive Transport Modeling
Summary of Funded PhD Program
We invite applications for a PhD position in the Hydrogeology workgroup at the University of Tübingen, Germany, to work on a project recently funded by the German Research Council (DFG). The aim of this project is to simulate the effects of pore-scale variability of surface reactivity on mineral dissolution and upscale the results to Darcy-scale reactive transport. The PhD candidate will be supervised by Dr. Tao Yuan and co-supervised by Prof. Olaf A. Cirpka.
